The Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor is an amazing and versatile choice.

Setup:

This is plug and play, ready to use.

Security:

The number one reason I like this product so much is that is does NOT pass any information to the internet since all video and audio is transmitted to its own portable receiver (3.5 inch screen) you can carry around the house. The range is 700 feet which is plenty inside a home.

Versatility:

The second reason I love this baby monitor is because it comes with three interchangeable lens (normal, zoom, and wide angle).

Convenience:

Since it does not transmit over the internet and instead to its own portable receiver, it does not consume all the power out of your phone. I have experience other baby monitors the easily eat up my phone’s battery due to the heavy burden of the app running constantly on the phone with a lot data coming in.

Price:

It is not the cheapest, but still very affordable for the features that come out of the box

Features:

  • IR Night Vision
  • Alarm function
  • Two-Way talk
  • Remote Thermometer
  • 1 Extra charging cable for the receiver
  • Camera pan, tilt, and zoom
  • Interchangeable lens
  • Can be expanded to up to 4 cameras
  • Replaceable rechargeable battery
  • Receiver has a very long battery life (10-12 hours standby, 8 hours screen on)
  • Micro USB port for charging with any standard micro USB cable (not having to deal with a proprietary cable is huge)

Verdict:

4.5 out of 5 stars. This is a very comprehensive and versatile system that does a great job at keeping you in touch with your baby whenever you are not in the immediate presence.
